How We Got Started

The city of Durham, North Carolina is one of the most "artsy" areas in the nation.  We are blessed to live in this area and have learned our craft from some of the best artisans in the nation, that just happens to be here.  We're grateful for the education we've received from our friends, neighbors and colleagues.  We got started by accident - we were looking at a youtube video on how to put together an IKEA project (yes, suicide is an option), and a "recommended" video came up showing how to make custom-turned wood pens.  It looked interesting so my OCD kicked in and I bought the required power tools (power tools rock!) and it "turns" out (pun intended) I was pretty good at it. So now we're selling our pens and pencils to just basically fund our hobby.  At the same time, we think our pens and pencils are of the highest quality - it's not unusual for us to trash one of three pens / pencils, since they're just not right.
